Mr. White
Norman Gibbs was a renowned neurologist and psychiatrist. Gibbs became obsessed with reflex theory after his grandmother gave him a secret diary of Robert Whytt’s work upon her deathbed. Gibbs believed he had found an error in his Whytt’s work related to the source of reflexes and was determined to prove it.
Gibbs experiments repeatedly failed, but he was determined to prove his hypothesis. He ultimately decided to conduct the trials on himself. The drugs raced through his body, changing him on an evolutionary level.
As a result, Gibbs reacts to his situational environment in an almost subconscious way. His body counters perceived threats as if the event has already happened. Making him nearly impossible to get the drop on.
“Sometimes a moment can last forever.”
- Gibbs theorizes the drugs merely released the potential of the animal spirit guiding his reflexes.
- Gibbs failed to prevent his wife's death by mere seconds, he wears the mask because he identifies with the White Rabbit for always being late.
- Gibbs believes that if he stands still for too long, the demons of his past will catch up to him
